Our Cakes

Our wedding cakes give you a traditional home baked cake. Made from the very best of ingredients. Each cake is filled with delicious jams and buttercream, then coated with white chocolate ganache which helps us to get those nice sharp edges. Finally each cake is coated with a delicious sugar paste icing in the colour of your choice.

If you prefer we do also create a selection of naked and buttercream wedding cakes. Here the cakes are coated with a layer of Swiss Meringue Buttercream either giving a smooth finish or one that reveals a little bit of the cake. These can be decorated with fresh flowers from your florist, sugar flowers or even macarons, meringue kisses and chocolates.

The finished price of each cake depends on the size and and type of decoration required. Starting prices without decoration are as below. Extra deep wedding cakes can be made (5″ or 6″ deep) – please get in contact for a price.

Chocolate Mud Cake: A rich dark moist chocolate cake filled with white chocolate buttercream

Black Forest Cake  A delicious moist chocolate cake filled with luscious cherry conserve and vanilla buttercream.

White Chocolate Mud Cake: A moist cake with a delicate white chocolate favour layered with a zingy passion fruit buttercream

Cherry Bakewell delicious almond sponge drizzled with Amaretto liquor filled with vanilla buttercream and cherry conserve.

Ginger cake moist spicy ginger cake filled with lemon buttercream.

Strawberry Cake with a Pink Champagne Butter Cream: A strawberry sponge cake flavoured with real strawberries. Filled with strawberry jam and pink champagne buttercream.

White chocolate and Raspberry Mud Cake: A lovely moist white chocolate cake containing fresh raspberries. Filled with a fresh raspberry and white chocolate buttercream.

Classic Victoria Sponge: Moist vanilla sponge flavoured with Madagascan Vanilla. Layered with raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream.

Lemon: A moist and zingy lemon drizzled sponge filled with lemon buttercream

Salted Caramel: Moist caramel cake layered with salted caramel buttercream

Carrot Cake: Very popular with our naked wedding cakes. A light, moist, spicy carrot cake containing crunchy walnuts and layered with vanilla buttercream.

Sticky Toffee: A lovely moist, sticky cake flavoured with dates and flavoured with white chocolate buttercream

Red Velvet: A lovely mellow chocolate cake filled with vanilla buttercream.

Rich Fruit Cake: A lovely rich cake containing plump fruits, crunchy walnuts and soaked in brandy.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Consultation and Tasting

Consultations are by appointment only. The consultation is without charge and gives you the opportunity to taste a variety of cake flavours, view a selection of wedding cake examples and discuss the design of your wedding cake. Please get in touch to book an appointment.

Price Quotation

You will receive a quote either online or by post detailing the design of your wedding cake/celebration cake and all the relevant design information. The price is based on the exact design and size of your cake. The quotation is valid for 30days from the date of the quotation. Paying the deposit will secure your cake at the price quoted.

Ordering

To avoid disappointment it is suggested that you order your wedding cake 6-12 months before your wedding day. Particularly if being held during the summer months and holidays.

Payment and Deposit

A 25% deposit is required to confirm your order and hold the date for you. The deposit is non refundable and dates can only be held once the deposit has been paid. The final payment is due 4 weeks before your wedding date. Payment for individual cakes or cake orders placed less than 6 weeks before the event require payment to be made in full. Celebration cakes require a 50% deposit, but the final payment can be made on collection (same day bank transfer or cash). Please contact me for payment details.

Cover 19 Update

If you need to postpone your wedding, your order and deposit can be moved to a later date with no extra charge. If I am unable to accommodate your new date, unfortunately the original deposit cannot be refunded as it covers ; the cake tasting and samples, consultation and design/sketches of your cake.

Cancellations

Deposits are non refundable. As your wedding cake booking is reserved solely for you and certain components for your cake may be ordered months in advance. the following conditions therefore apply when an order is cancelled. Full payment of the cake balance is due if cancellation is within 1 month of the wedding date. 50% of the cake balance is due if cancellation is within 1-3 months of the wedding date. Cancellations must be submitted in writing. If you postpone the event we will endeavour to transfer your order to your new date., depending on availability.

Delivery & Set up

As part of our service Just Yours will set up your wedding cake at your chosen venue. We ensure that the cake is left in perfect order. Once we leave we cannot take responsibility for your cake if accidents should occur. Delivery of your wedding cake within 10 miles of Just Yours is free of charge. Venues further afield will incur a delivery charge.

Stand Hire

Some cake stands are available to hire. Price is £10.00 per stand plus a security deposit to cover the cost of the stand. (Deposit will vary depending on the price of the stand) The security deposit will be refunded once the stand has been returned undamaged. The stand must be returned 3 days after the wedding.

Allergies and Special Dietary Requirements

Gluten free cakes are available and work particularly well with the chocolate mud cakes. Jill uses her own gluten free mix which comprises of rice , potato and tapioca flour. Whilst our sponge cakes are nut free we cannot guarantee a nut, gluten free environment. Dairy free cakes are also available in our naked and semi naked wedding cake collection.

Best Before and Storage Conditions

All cakes should be kept in a cool, dry environment, but not refrigerated if iced. Your cake is baked fresh for your event. It is made from the very best of ingredients and does not contain any presarvatives as commercial cakes can. Our sponge cakes are therefore designed to be eaten on the day or within 48 hours of the event. Fruit cakes will last for several months and will improve as they age and should be kept wrapped or in a tin. To extend the shelf life of your sponge cake after the event you can freeze it for up to 3 months. Please note that the icing will become sticky when defrosted.

Cake Finish

Our celebration cakes are covered in fondant sugar pasteicing and have a thin layer of buttercream underneath.

Our fondant covered wedding cakes have a thin layer of chocolate ganache or marzipan underneath the fondant. This provides the foundation for a smooth finish. The chocolate ganache can be made from white or milk chocolate.
