Consultation and Tasting

We offer a complementary consultation at our home in Lytham St Annes. This is an informal opportunity for you to view some display cakes, have a chat about your ideas, choose your favourite cake flavours and plan a beautiful wedding cake for your special day. Please get in touch to book an appointment.

Pricing

Each wedding cake is individually priced, as cost depends on many things such as size, cake flavours chosen and level of decoration. Please have a look on our website gallery at the examples of cakes and their prices to give you an idea of what we charge.

Ordering

To avoid disappointment it is suggested that you order your wedding cake 6-9 months before your wedding day. Particularly if being held during the summer months and holidays.

Deposits/Payments

To place your order a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the cost of your order is required. With the final payment due 3 weeks before the event. If the order is placed less than 3 weeks before required then payment must be made in full. Payment can be made by bank transfer, Cheque (cheques made payable to Jill Wilson) or cash.

Delivery & Collection

Our wedding service includes delivery and set up of your wedding cake at your reception. Delivery is free of charge within a 10 mile radius of St Annes.

Stand Hire

Some cake stands are available to hire. Price is £10.00 per stand plus a security deposit to cover the cost of the stand. (Deposit will vary depending on the price of the stand) The security deposit will be refunded once the stand has been returned undamaged. The stand must be returned 3 days after the wedding.

Allergies and Special Dietary Requirements

Gluten free cakes are available and work particularly well with the chocolate mud cakes. Jill uses her own gluten free mix which comprises of rice , potato and tapioca flour. Whilst our sponge cakes are nut free we cannot guarantee a nut free environment. Dairy free cakes are also available in our naked and semi naked wedding cake collection.

Cake Storage

Wedding and Celebration Cakes are designed to be eaten on the day. Sponge cakes will stay fresh for 2 days after the event, fruit cakes for several months. Our cakes are made from fresh natural ingredients and do not contain any added chemical preservatives. If you would like to keep your wedding cake for longer then you might like to cut it into smaller pieces and freeze. Cakes should not be refrigerated as the sugar paste icing is not designed to be refrigerated. Cakes should be stored and displayed in a cool, dry environment.

Cake Finish

Our celebration cakes are covered in fondant sugar pasteicing and have a thin layer of buttercream underneath.

Our fondant covered wedding cakes have a thin layer of chocolate ganache or marzipan underneath the fondant. This provides the foundation for a smooth finish. The chocolate ganache can be made from white or milk chocolate.
